Peninah is a seasoned Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over 15 years of experience in financial management, grants compliance, and organizational fiscal strategy. As Grants & Finance Director at DASK, she oversees financial operations, donor fund management, and regulatory compliance. She leads the design and implementation of robust financial systems to ensure transparent, accountable, and efficient management of grants from international donors, including Amref, KCDF, and other development partners.
Peninah specializes in budget development, financial reporting, internal controls, audit preparation, and risk mitigation—ensuring that every shilling is traceable, impactful, and compliant with both Kenyan statutory requirements (IFRS, VAT, withholding tax) and donor-specific guidelines.
As Finance Director, Peninah advises DASK’s affiliate organizations and social enterprises on financial sustainability, systems strengthening, and capacity building for finance teams. Her leadership bridges the gap between donor compliance and grassroots financial reality, enabling DASK to scale programs with integrity. Key areas of expertise include grants management, financial systems design, audit readiness, risk mitigation, donor reporting, and statutory compliance. Her dual technical and strategic role uniquely positions her to uphold the highest standards of fiscal accountability while remaining grounded in the practical realities of community-based advocacy.
Peninah is committed to advancing disability-inclusive programming through sound financial stewardship. She believes that transparent and effective financial management is foundational to building donor confidence, expanding DASK’s reach, and delivering lasting community impact. Through her dedication to integrity and excellence, she empowers DASK to grow sustainably while remaining accountable to the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and communities the organization serves.
